A Bee's Difficult Search for Food: Storybook Walk Edition

from $174.00

Buzz Along with a Busy Bee!

A rusty patched bumblebee leaves her nest on an important mission: find flowers for her family. But the field she remembers is gone, the dandelions get sprayed, and a frightened homeowner swats her away. Will this little scout ever find the food she needs?

Mary Ellen Klukow’s gentle, fact-filled story and Romina Martí’s charming illustrations show young readers how changing habitats affect the pollinators we all depend on. This Storybook Walk Edition turns the story into a buzzing, hands-on adventure. Every page has an activity prompt that gets walkers moving and thinking: scanning the trail with “bee-noculars,” zooming like worker bees, or dreaming up bee-friendly gardens. Fact pages about pollen, pollinators, and how to help bees make it a great fit for science units and Earth Day events.

Bee-Friendly Activity Prompts
